Family Preservation

Ireland Home Based Services provides inclusive services to preserve children with their caregivers in a safe home environment. Ireland Home Based Services utilizes evidence-based programs to provide support and resources to families to ensure child safety.

All families with an in-home CHINS or IA case are eligible to be referred to Family Preservation Services. Probation families can be referred for Family Preservation Services as well. Ireland Home Based Services completes an assessment with each family referred for Family Preservation Services resulting in an appropriate treatment plan that is based on the family’s assessed need. The main goal for these services is to preserve the family and avoid the trauma of removal for the child, provided it is safe for them to remain in the home with their caregiver(s). IHBS provides timely, frequent, face-to-face in-home services. We complete the safety checklist at a minimum weekly with the family and all required documentation. All families have a safety plan and needs are assessed ongoing. During the assessment we determine the family’s needs, goals, and the appropriate evidence-based program to be utilized to preserve the family.

• Working together in partnership with DCS/ schools/Probation and other local community partners to achieve the best outcomes for the family and preserve the family.
• Attending Child and Family Team meetings with the family, court and any other meetings.
• 24 hour on-call ongoing crisis management support to DCS, Probation and families.
• Family Centered services
• Communication with DCS/Probation is frequent and IHBS values collaboration with our customers.
